Upcoming hike schedule

The Hoyt Arboretum was really fun last Friday! Even though it was a hot day, we went early, and enjoyed the coolness under the trees. The kids had a great time.

So, here is the schedule I set up. I tried to space out the hikes that are a bit of a drive from the ones closer to home. Also, as far as I know, the Japanese Garden is the only place that costs money to get in. Unless otherwise noted, hikes are at 11AM, and meeting in the main parking lot. If anyone is a bit late, give my cell a ring-a-ling, and we’ll try to meet up. My # is 5038807308. With that, here’s the plan!

Friday, August 22: Japanese Garden.

Thursday, August 28: Latourell Falls. More info here.

Friday, September 5: Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge.

Thursday, September 11: Cannon Trail in Forest Park. More info here.

Friday, September 19: Silver Falls. More info here.

Thursday, September 25: Jackson Bottom.

Friday, October 3: Tualatin Hills Nature Park & Interpretive Center.

  1. hey! this is alicia, I will be joining you guys sept. 5th for sure!!!! :)

  2. Yay :)

  3. Also, the Japanese Gardens are one of the places you can get a free cultural pass from the libraries. There is usually a wait, though, so this may be too short notice. I think I will ask for the heck of it!

  4. Good thing to bring up, Lisa! I will have to check into our library, too. I don’t know if Yamhill Co. Libraries do that for Portland stuffs. I know they have done it for some more local things, like the Airplane museum and the Herbert Hoover House.

  5. I’m down for Oaks Bottom for sure – might be able to make it to Latourell, but not certain yet.

  6. Awesome, Tracy :D

  7. Hey Nicole,
We’d love to go to the Japanese Garden tomorrow. It’s *probably* my last week before I start my externship!

(way to put the pressure on you at the last minute, huh?);)

  8. We would love for you guys to come!

  9. Hi!
I’m thinking we’re going to try and meet you for Cannon Trail. It all depends on how our week shakes out, but I think it will work. I’m not quite sure where to meet up though.

    thanks for organizing all this!
    Wendy (and the boys)

  10. Hi Wendy! Sounds good :) Look forward to meeting you up there!

I’ll make a post soon with info on parking and meeting up.

    -Nicole

  11. ARGH!!! I’m so sorry we missed this. Hubby had to go out of town and we ended up spending the morning at the car place trying to convince the guy to just replace a spark plug. So very frustrating. We’re hoping for the next one though!
